Paul Sinclair grew up on a family farm. After spending almost two decades in Japan, Taiwan, and mainland China, he returned to Canada in 2010. He has been extensively involved in the camelina industry since 2010.

Ayako Sinclair is from Osaka, Japan. She moved to Canada in 2010. She has been involved in business development in the camelina industry since 2014.
